I work out of my home several times a week with clients. It is not only embarrassing, but the noise level is extremely traumatizing to most of my clients. Sometimes families with young children are waiting outside in my driveway. The gunfire is so loud, that many of them have expressed concern. I am surprised that they are allowed to shoot such high caliber weapons in a residential neighborhood.

We are so upset about the noise coming from the rifle range. We cannot even have conversations with friends if we are sitting on our back porch because it is too loud. We are now worried about the depreciation of the value of our home. It would be difficult to sell it with the noise that is going on in our neighborhood. It really is out of control at this point.

I live more than 1 mile away from the range, but I can hear the sound of high-caliber automatic weapons inside my house. It is traumatizing and alarming. Sometimes it is all day, seven days per week. I don’t think people should have to be scared in their own homes.

I had a friend at my house and her son dove under our kitchen table when when he heard the shooting because it sounded like we were under attack. He had learned to do that at school during a drill. How are we living like this with our children in fear in our own homes?

I walk my dogs in the DNRT Destruction Brook Woods and it sounds like we are under attack. It is terrifying and has ruined this conservation area for people like me and families with children who feel unsafe.

I am shocked that the New Bedford Police are allowed to operate a training facility in a neighboring town and in a residential area. There has been no consideration of residents’ safety and quality of life in their homes.

I have lived here for many years and have always been aware of the range. But it used to be hand guns here and there and the hours seemed much more limited. Now it sounds like machine guns and it sometimes is every day of the week and even into the evening. It is always busy on a Friday after 5pm.
